The University released a statement today with a few more details about the baseball team’s March 22 game against Saint Joseph’s that will be held at Nationals Park. Not too much new information was released, except that the game will start at 1:05 p.m. and gates will open at noon. It’s considered a home game for GW even though it’s a neutral site.
I’ve received many comments from people interested in attending the game and curious about how it will be possible to purchase tickets. This release says that tickets are being issued privately and that a “limited number of tickets will be available to the GW community after March 10.” To get these tickets, a valid GWorld will be necessary. I’m not sure if this means that GW is taking care of getting tickets to those interested or if it means that tickets are mostly for people who the University chooses to give the tickets to (donors, family members of administrators, etc., but not GW faculty and students). It does say that the event is not open to the public. The release also does not say how much tickets will cost, if anything.
The athletic office and the University’s public relations office are both closed for the weekend, however I will put in a call to both offices Monday morning to try and get some more information about ticketing. Keep checking back, as I’ll post information as soon as I have it.
