The No. 14/13 (AP, ESPN/USA Today) women’s basketball team beat unranked University of Virginia 70-68 Monday night in Charlottesville. Junior Antelia Parrish led GW with 18 points and 10 rebounds, shooting seven-for-nine from the floor. All five of GW’s starters scored in double figures.
Cavalier Lyndra Littles led all scorers with 25, but it was not enough to win the game, which was close throughout after GW got off to a 10-1 start.
GW next plays the University of Kentucky Wednesday at Smith Center, then plays No. 3 Rutgers Sunday, also at home.
