The election may bode ill for Democrats, but it was a triumph for the 10 GW alumni and one former professor who were seeking re-election in Congress. In an election that saw few representatives lose their seats, three alumni failed to unseat incumbents in the House of Representatives. A current student, junior James Gilbreath, failed to defeat a long-time Republican incumbent to win a seat in the Texas House of Representatives.
