The GW gymnastics team took second place on bars and third on floor to finish fourth overall at the Wolfpack Invitational at North Carolina State Saturday. Senior Devin McCalla, last week’s Co-Atlantic 10 player of the week, finished third in the all-around.
University of North Carolina Chapel Hill won the team competition with a score of 196.150, followed by N.C. State (195.500) and Central Michigan (195.275). GW’s 194.600 was good enough to trump the College of William and Mary (192.200) and James Madison University (187.350).
McCalla took third in the all-around with a 39.150. She finished second on bars (9.00) and seventh on floor (9.850), and finished in the top 20 out of 39 competitors in vault (9.750) and beam (9.650). GW’s Jessica Mantak finished fifth in the all around (38.925).
