Water Polo faces Hartwick in Eastern Championships

The GW women’s water polo team (14-10, 6-2) will compete against No. 17 Hartwick College in the Eastern Championships Saturday at noon in Providence, R.I. Top teams will compete in the Eastern Championships, including No. 14 Princeton University, No. 15 University of Michigan, No. 17 Hartwick, No. 18 Indiana University and No. 20 Brown University. Harvard University and GW are the only unranked teams that will be competing

The winner of the Eastern Championships receives an automatic berth to the NCAA Championships May 12-13 at Stanford University.

GW received a berth to the Eastern Championships by placing fourth at the Southern Championships April 7.

Hartwick defeated 11-4 GW once earlier this season at the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships at Princeton University March 31. Hartwick is undefeated in the New York Region and first overall in the Northern Division final standings.
