Letters: Trampled values

Neither your article nor your staff editorial called the exclusion from a lecture of five Arab students by Hillel Executive Director Simon Amiel precisely what it was – racism.

Thankfully, on this campus, blatant and overt racist acts like that one are rare. But I hope that our usual collective maturity does not blind us to them. They cannot be wished away or ignored.

While free speech and open fora on the issues of the day are important, they were not the only values trampled that day.
