Hatchet staff members elected current Editor in Chief Sarah Roach to a second term Saturday night.
Roach – a journalism major and junior from Danvers, Massachusetts – is the third editor in Hatchet history to serve for two terms. She will lead the paper’s 117’s volume, which starts in May.
She previously worked as an assistant news editor covering student life and as a research assistant.
Roach’s goals for the next year is to focus on improving diversity, building community on staff and expanding the business office.
She will continue in her role as president of Hatchet Publications, Inc., pending approval by The Hatchet’s Board of Directors.
The Hatchet is an editorially and financially independent student newspaper serving the GW and Foggy Bottom community. It is the second oldest D.C. newspaper after The Washington Post.
