Horatio asks:
“What’s the deal with that poll?”
He’s referring to a Web poll question that asks whether a person should pay for accidentally cracking a window. I posted this tongue-in-cheek poll, which is a deviation from more serious polls about campus issues, because I wanted to gauge reader opinion in a dispute between myself and an editor who shall remain nameless.
On Wednesday night, a certain excitable news editor with red hair and a Texas tattoo carelessly tossed a hammer on to an office couch; the hammer bounced off the couch, cracking a large window overlooking G Street.
I thought the editor should pay for the damage; the editor thought differently, and was very adament about not paying, and even went so far as to suggest he wasn’t at culpable for the damage.
Sometimes I get bored with straightforward Web polls, and like to spice it up a little. Unfortunately, this poll won’t accurately reflect the opinions of our Internet readers. The red-headed editor rigged the damn thing. He’s such a trouble-maker.
