The men’s water polo team will suit up four new players next season, while the women’s team will add six new members for the 2013 season.

The men’s recruits include Connor Dillon, a goalkeeper from Los Gatos, Calif., who was the 2011 All-Peninsula Athletic League Bay Division Goalie of the Year, Jonah Dowd, a utility player from Claremont, Calif., who was named was named first-team all-league as a senior, Bogdan Petkovic, a center defender from Belgrade, Serbia, who was the captain of the Serbian Cadet National Team and also suited up for Water Polo Club Partizan, a 25-time national champion, and Alec Sedlachek, a center from Ranchos Palos Verdes, Calif., who helped lead his team to four straight Bay League titles.

“This group of talented freshmen will help shore up our defense and strengthen our depth,” head coach Scott Reed said in a release.

On the women’s side, six new faces will take to the pool for the Colonials, including three players from California, two from Florida and one from Canada. Hannah Cox, a center from Surrey, British Columbia, boasts significant international experience, including serving as the captain of the silver medal-winning team at the 18U Canadian National Championships in 2011. Erin Donoghue, an attack from Walnut Creek, Calif., was a  four-time all-league selection from Las Lomas High School, including first team honors in 2010 and 2011. McKinlee Hand, an attack from Oviedo, Fla., earned Central Florida Player of the Year and team MVP honors as a senior.

Caroline Sandri, a center from Hayward, Calif., nabbed First-Team All-League and All-Section as well as Senior All-Star Award honors her senior season after scoring 85 goals, recording 60 assists and 95 ejections drawn. Caterina Sesana, a goalkeeper from Coral Gables, Fla., was a four-year starting keeper at Gulliver Prep and earned a Fifth-Team All-America nod as a senior after earning a .692 save percentage with 207 saves against 92 goals allowed. Ruti Zwick, an attack from Riverside, Calif., is a 2011 USA Water Polo Academic All-American and AP Scholar who lead her league in assists last season.

“This is another talented class that will help with our overall depth and help steer this team toward the next level of success,” Reed said in a release.
