Metropolitan Police Department officers arrested a woman outside Ross Hall Friday morning after discovering the woman had an outstanding warrant for a second degree assault, according to an MPD report.
At about 8 a.m., an MPD officer responded to a report that a woman had a knife on a Metrobus, the report states. Sophia Williams, 48, told the officer she threatened a man riding the bus with the knife, but the man exited the bus before the stop outside Ross Hall, according to the report.
The officer found a “small kitchen knife” on the last row of seats on the bus, the report states. The officer conducted a check on Williams, finding she had an outstanding bench warrant for a second degree assault that occurred on Oct. 11, according to the report.
MPD officers arrested Williams for being a fugitive from justice and transported her to the Second District police station for processing, the report states.
