Senior guard Mei-Lyn Bautista scooped two Atlantic 10 conference honors Thursday as a part of the league’s annual postseason awards.
Bautista was named to the A-10 All-Defensive Team and earned All-Conference Third Team. The awards were announced ahead of the quarterfinal round of the A-10 Championship this weekend.
George Mason sophomore guard Nicole Cardano-Hillary was named A-10 Women’s Basketball Player of the Year.
Saint Louis was honored nine times – the most of any school – and no other Colonial received recognition.
Bautista was a preseason pick to the All-Defensive Team and All-Conference Second Team. In her final year as a Colonial, Bautista stuffed the stat sheet and led GW with 55 steals and 110 assists. Bautista was sixth in the conference in minutes per game with 36.0.
Bautista also contributed 9.3 points per game, second on the team behind sophomore forward Neila Luma’s 10.4 points per game.
A key figure in two of GW’s A-10 Championship wins, Bautista also received an A-10 Player of the Week accolade earlier this season.
As a junior, she was named to the A-10 All-Championship Team and was part of the A-10 All-Rookie Team freshman year.
Bautista holds the 20th spot in program history with 294 assists in her career, and she is 14th in program history for three-pointers made with 106.
