The Society of Professional Journalists named The Hatchet as a finalist in seven categories for its annual collegiate journalism competition.
The winners for the Mark of Excellence Awards will be announced at the Region 2 spring conference April 13 and 14 in Richmond, Va.
Region 2 includes collegiate newspapers in D.C., Maryland, Virginia, Delaware and North Carolina. First-place winners will advance to a national contest.
