The Hatchet is looking for a skilled web developer to join our staff.
After launching a new website and app in the past year, we need a student web developer to maintain the current website and continue enhancing it with creative new features.
In addition to maintaining servers and making changes to optimize the website, the web developer will work on exciting projects like creating landing pages for special editions throughout the year, adding new sections and working with the design team to create interactive graphics.
While working for The Hatchet, the student will gain valuable experience working with modern tools like JavaScript, Node.js, nginx, HTML5, CSS3, PHP and GitHub.
Prior programming experience is required, and HTML and CSS knowledge is preferred.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, but we are looking for the new web developer to join our team as soon as possible. The position will be compensated with a small scholarship.
Check out our website and some examples of our work, including landing pages for the 2017 Basketball Season Preview and the Holiday Guide, before applying.
To apply, please send a resume to [email protected]. If you have a GitHub profile or links to any work you’ve done, please send those as well.
