Two people were arrested after a GW official found about five ounces of marijuana in a briefcase in an Amsterdam Hall room Wednesday, according to a Metropolitan Police Department report and MPD spokeswoman Karimah Bilal.
Both individuals were charged with possession of controlled substances with intent to distribute, according to the report.
At about 6:25 p.m., two University Police Department officers contacted Ethan Stubbs, the administrator on call, after they smelled burning marijuana, the document states.
After one subject exited the room, the officers entered and did a “protective sweep” of the room, finding the other subject, according to the report.
Stubbs then conducted a search of the room and seized nearly $1,500 of evidence, including 13 containers and an envelope of butane hash oil and five extractors, grinders, $601, a scale and 68 small containers, the document reads.
