Behind the candidacy: Student Association campaign managers

Video by Blair Guild

Whether they’re juggling hectic schedules, updating social media, creating campaign graphics or carrying their candidates’ bags between endorsement hearings, behind each Student Association candidate is a campaign manager dedicated to helping make their candidate’s campaign a success.

“As soon as you’re out of class, you’re doing this,” said Ashley Morehouse, the campaign manager for presidential candidate Tony Hart. “You’re updating social media, you’re meeting with people constantly and you’re usually up until at least 2 in the morning any given night.”

We spoke to the campaign managers about their work behind the scenes.

“Don’t underestimate the fact that there are plenty of really, really smart people here who have really great ideas,” said Joshua Kirmsse, campaign manager for executive vice presidential candidate Thomas Falcigno. “You have to meet that level of competition.”
