Men’s basketball senior Patricio Garino has been named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week for his performance in three games last week, the conference announced Monday.
Garino averaged 18 points per game – and, in fact, scored exactly 18 points in each game – as the Colonials won against No. 6 Virginia, South Florida and Army.
Garino shot 61.3 percent from the floor and was GW’s most consistent three point threat, hitting 4-of-7 from beyond the arc in that span. He was 7-of-8 from the floor on Monday against the Cavaliers, answering multiple Virginia runs.
This is Garino’s first-ever A-10 Player of the Week award, and the first for GW since Kevin Larsen took one home on Dec. 29, 2014.
