For those growing bored of the National Gallery’s permanent collection of priceless impressionist works, the Phillips Collection has the antidote to your artistic ennui.
Works by Vincent Van Gough, the artist who brought the world such masterpieces as “Starry Night” and “The Bedroom at Arles,” are coming to the Phillips Collection for the first time ever. The modern art museum in Dupont Circle will exhibit a collection of his works, focusing particularly on why he often repeatedly painted the same subject.
Tickets are $10 for students. The exhibit opens this Saturday and will run until Jan. 24, which gives you plenty of time to go see it. Even if you’re not an art aficionado, Van Gogh is certainly worth a visit– he chopped off his ear after all.
