Three individuals were barred from campus for trespassing in the Gelman Library Starbucks after employees left the doors unlocked during Superstorm Sandy.
A Starbucks employee called the coffeehouse at 6:15 a.m. on Oct. 30 looking for his manager, when one of the intruders answered the call, University Police Captain Mark Balazik said. The intruders, who were seeking shelter from the storm, demanded over the phone that the employee come in and make them coffee.
The employee reported the incident to the University Police Department, which evicted the intruders and prohibited them from returning to campus property, Balazik said.
