While the political fate of the country may – or may not – be decided by the morning, the volleyball team will need to wait for this weekend to learn their postseason destiny.
The top six teams in the league will advance to the A-10 tournament, and Dan DiVeglio of the University’s athletics communications department helped break down how the Colonials can get there.
After a split weekend of league action, the Colonials currently sit in a tie with Temple for fifth place, but hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Owls. And GW has a one game lead over both Butler and Rhode Island, but those teams each hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Colonials.
Should GW defeat Duquesne Saturday, they’ll automatically earn a berth to the postseason. But should the Colonials lose, they’ll need a loss from two of the following three teams: Rhode Island (at Fordham), Butler (vs. Saint Louis) or Temple (vs. La Salle).
