Sophomore named Southern Division Player of the Week

Sophomore attack Rachael Bentley is the CWPA Southern Division Player of the Week, after averaging almost five points per game over the Colonials’ six-game road trip in California over spring break.

Bentley led the team offensively, posting team bests in goals, with 16, assists, with 12, and points, with 28. She also added eight steals and nine ejections drawn – both team bests. She scored her 16 goals on 27 shots, earning a .593 shooting percentage. Bentley’s best game was GW’s final contest, where she netted five goals and added an assist in a 13-8 win over Division III No. 6 Chapman.

Bentley leads the Colonials in goals at 30, assists at 25 and points at 55, and she ranks second on the team in steals, with 19. GW next returns to the pool March 30, hosting Southern Division rival No. 18 Princeton at 8 p.m.
