While it was likely not as emotional as the teams’ last meeting, the Colonials knocked off Fordham 55-52 in the Bronx this afternoon on the back of senior Jessica Adair’s 21 points, nine rebounds and three blocks to pick up their first win away from the District this season.
GW (9-8, 2-1 Atlantic 10) went into halftime tied with the Rams, who set an NCAA record by going 0-29 last season. They were able to edge the hosts in a low-scoring second half while converting just a third of their total shots from the field (8 of 24) and making only one of 11 three-point attempts. Fordham scored just one point in the final two minutes, with Adair scoring off a Yolanda Lavender miss to put GW ahead for good with 1:17 remaining.
