Perhaps the best way to enjoy a basketball game is as a member of the Colonial Army, the men’s and women’s basketball’s student spirit group.
After about a month of recruitment, about 800 students have signed up for the organization, co-president Becky Wilson said. This is about even with the number the group has received in the past, but co-president Victor Danau said that there was a higher retention rate of members from last year than the Army has seen in years past.
Official membership benefits have recently been released to members. In addition to the T-shirt that is offered every year, the guidelines to a points system, which rewards members for attending different events, has been released.
Members are also offered the opportunity to travel to at least two road games and be included in a special package for the men’s Atlantic 10 tournament, held in Atlantic City, N.J., in March.
Students can sign up anytime for $15 in the Student Activities Center on the fourth floor of the Marvin Center.
