The decision to print a regular sex column in the Life section was a tough one. I didn’t want it to be too tacky or something people would mock, but I do think that students like to read about sex and I am trying to keep the Life section fun and interesting.
Take a look at our first installment of the sex column in today’s issue, which will start printing every other week. Marissa, the contributing features editor, and I chose “Eve” to be our new regular sex columnist out of a batch of about seven people who sent us sample columns. “Eve’s” was witty and made us laugh out loud when we read it and, in my opinion, wasn’t one of those tacky sex columns that readers would just end up trashing. I can see readers following along with “Eve’s” adventures throughout the semester and looking forward to her bi-monthly columns. But I want to gauge what you think. Is this sex column in The Hatchet going too far?
One other thing. I also received an e-mail from a male GW senior who wrote a counter column to “Eve’s” today and it made me think – would readers want to see a side-by-side male vs. female sex column and for us to take it that one step further? I want some feedback…
