We’ve gotten some questions in recent days about the status of the gwbasketball.com site — a Web portal geared toward GW basketball enthusiasts — which was set to debut at the beginnning of the semester. The short answer is we’re still working on it, and it will go live in a number of weeks.

We’ve been working on gwbasketball.com for a few months now, and in order to release a site that has all the features and design elements we’ve brainstormed and want to implement, it’s taken longer than expected. Staff schedules/vacations during winter break held back development a little bit, but since we’ve gotten our bearings straight for the new semester and have been back for almost two weeks, we’re pushing forward.

Also, the underlying software that we’re using, WordPress, recently released its 2.0 version, which has resulted in The Hatchet’s Web staff having to re-code the site to make it compatible with the newest technology.
