After dropping a meet to Atlantic 10 rival Virginia Tech last Saturday, the GW men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams bounced back with a win over La Salle Saturday at the Smith Center.
Hosting their first home meet of the season, the teams took 20 out of 24 races, routing La Salle 129-111 (men) and 139-80 (women).
For the men, senior Juan Bocanegra (first in 200-yard indivisual medley,100-yard freestyle and 400-yard freestyle relay) and junior Wes Teter (first in 200-yard freestyle, 500-yard freestyle and 400-yard freestyle relay) both notched victories in three events. Senior Tim Champney finished first in two individual events (200-yard backstroke and 50-yard freestyle).
For the women, senior Jennifer Skinner claimed three individual events (200-yard freestyle, 500-yard freestyle and 1000-yard freestyle). Sophomore Jocelyn Finch took two events and a relay (200-yard IM, 200-yard breaststroke and 400-yard relay).
The men improved to 2-1 and the women to 3-1.
The teams head to George Mason Saturday to face the College of William and Mary at noon.
