The men’s basketball team will play a pair of home games next week against Nevada and Hampton as host of consolation round games for the NIT Season Tip-Off.
The consolation round will open for GW Monday night with a game against Nevada Monday night at 8 p.m. in the Smith Center. The Wolfpack will make the trip to Foggy Bottom after dropping both of its games against Pacific and Pepperdine earlier this week in the NIT Season Tip-Off’s western bracket.
The Colonials’ contest against Nevada Monday night will be preceded by a game between Boston University, which topped GW 76-67 Tuesday night, and Hampton at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
Unlike in the tournament’s opening round, the winners and losers of the two games Monday do not play each other Tuesday, so the Colonials will not get a second chance to take on the Terriers.
GW will wrap up the tournament Tuesday night against Hampton, which lost to Wake Forest in the opening game of the tournament’s East region but beat Winthrop in the region’s consolation round, at 8 p.m. That game will follow a game at 5:30 p.m. between BU and Nevada.
Students, who are typically admitted free of charge with their GWorld cards, will need to pay $4 for tickets to the games Monday and Tuesday, Athletic Director Jack Kvancz said. One day’s ticket will be good for both games Monday and Tuesday.
