It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, especially in Georgetown today where “Merriment in Georgetown” is spreading some serious holiday cheer.
Free horse-drawn carriage rides, historic games at the Dumbarton house and other activities should effectively turn Georgetown into Charles Dickens’ picturesque London from “A Christmas Carol.”
Gourmet hot chocolate tastings and holiday sales at over 40 of Georgetown’s restaurants and stores pack some 21st century appeal as well.
Beginning at 2 p.m., musical appearances will begin on the “Holiday Stage,” including the Holy Trinity School Choir at 3:55 p.m. and the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, D.C. at 4:15 p.m.
The annual Tree lighting at Georgetown Harbour is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., followed by a boat parade of lights.
