The University confirmed this week that Kappa Delta will move into the former Delta Gamma townhouse on 23rd Street at the beginning of next academic year.
GW kicked out Delta Gamma last semester after it was charged with hazing, hosting unregistered social events with alcohol and supplying alcohol to minors.
Some members of Kappa Delta now live in International House, which is home to students in Greek life. Delta Gamma received a deferred revocation of its chapter status until 2016.
Like GW’s contracts with other Greek chapters, Kappa Delta will be able to live in the townhouse for a decade, unless it is found guilty of misconduct severe enough to warrant loss of housing.
Hiatt did not return a request to comment about how many students will live in the townhouse. It will remain vacant during this semester.
The University keeps an online list of student organizations that are facing sanctions for misconduct. Kappa Delta, which colonized at GW in 2012, has not appeared on the list. The chapter’s president declined a request to comment.
