Not fifteen minutes after we posted our confirmation that Miles Beatty would no longer be a part of the GW basketball program next year, the Department of Athletics sent out a release stating that Cheyenne Moore will be leaving the team as well.

“Certain expectations are placed on our players both on and off the court. They did not meet those expectations. Both Cheyenne and Miles were given every opportunity to succeed here at GW. I wish them both the very best in the future,” head men’s basketball coach Karl Hobbs said in the press release.

With the departure of the two, it appears the Colonials will have room for all four of their incoming recruits next season. GW has signed Tony Taylor, Matt Allbritton, Aaron Ware, and Dwayne Smith for the 2008-09 season.

While it is unclear whether or not Moore will remain at GW for his senior year, Beatty’s high school coach Bob Hurley told the Hatchet Beatty plans to transfer. Hurley was unsure of where Beatty will attend next year, but said the relatively late transfer suggested a junior college could be his destination.
