Hatchet Reporter Emily Katz shares her latest musical obsessions.
I was first introduced to this song via its music video, which is notably trippy and just all-around bizarre. The song is poppy and fun though, and deserves to withstand the sub par video representation.
Avi Buffalo: “What’s in it for?”
This song has helped quench my perpetual thirst for new material by Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros (unfortunately the real thing will probably not be available for months). The folky instrumentals and sing-songy chorus put this song in a league right up there with “40 Day Dream”.
I detest Bright Eyes, but this song sounds so great next to grasshoppers chirping on soft spring nights. This song would also be perfect for a melancholy medical sequence on “Grey’s Anatomy”.
