Redshirt senior second baseman Sean Rockey has been named to the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper’s preseason All-American third team, the athletic department announced today.

Rockey, the only Atlantic 10 player to make any of the three teams, led the conference in hits (81), batting average (.420) and on-base percentage (.504) last spring and was fourth in slugging percentage (.679) and runs batted in (60). His 10 homeruns in 55 starts led the Colonials.

GW’s baseball season begins Feb. 19 with a three-game series at North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C. The Colonials’ first home game will be Feb. 26 against Coppin State at Barcroft Park in Arlington, Va.
