GW Senior Kim Beck has been chosen as the conference’s top player by the Conference’s coaches, an Atlantic 10 press release said Wednesday. With the announcement, Beck becomes the first GW player to win the conference’s highest individual honor in four years.
“It’s always good to get recognition. I think our team’s got a lot of recognition this year,” the ever-humble Beck said. “I feel like any of our starting 5 could have gotten it. They’re all candidates, and it shows just the number of weapons that we have.”
Junior Jessica Adair and Beck were named to the A-10’s all-conference first-team in the same press release. Senior Sarah-Jo Lawrence earned third-team all-conference honors, and senior Whitney Allen was placed on the all-conference defensive team as well.
The Colonials next hit the court this weekend in Philadelphia in the Atlantic 10 Tournament. GW will play the winner of St. Bonaventure vs. Rhode Island at 4 p.m. Saturday.
