Several events are planned for Religion Week.

Thursday night the “Faith After Tragedy” program will offer an open discussion to students in the Marvin Center Amphitheater. A panel of 4 or 5 students will each share personal experiences from the Sept. 11 attacks and will facilitate an open discussion. The speakers will incorporate their faiths into their stories of coping with terrorism.

“It will be a good opportunity for students to talk about what happened,” said Arezoo Riahi, co-chair of the Program Board Multi-Cultural Affairs Committee.

Riahi also said that there will be a “Faith Fest” in Kogan Plaza from 12 to 4 p.m. Thursday. Music, barbecue and ice cream will all be offered.

Thursday night will bring Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights. A dinner at 8 p.m. will begin the festival, followed by a cultural show at 9:30 p.m. featuring poetry and dance.

“Bring A Friend” worship services span the weekend. Friday at 1:30 p.m., Muslim services will be held at the Western Presbyterian Church. On Saturday, Hillel welcomes students at 6 p.m. Sunday, St. Mary’s Church will welcome students for Episcopal worship. There will be Protestant worship at the Western Presbyterian Church at 11 p.m. and Catholic Mass at the Newman Center at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday.
