Shooting guard Maureece Rice has not signed with an agent and still has NCAA eligibility, Director of Sports Information Brad Bower said Monday. Rice, a rising senior who declared for the NBA draft, was on an NBA-released list of early-entry players, which was expected considering he has declared for the draft. However, the names of players who had not signed with agents were marked with an asterisk and Rice’s name did not have one.
Bower said he spoke with Head Coach Karl Hobbs, who told him Rice had not signed and that Rice should have had an asterisk next to his name. Bower did not say whether Rice planned on signing with an agent eventually. Players have until June 18 to withdraw their names and maintain eligibility for the upcomin season.
