Let’s start the BB&T talk. In today’s Washington Post Mike Wise wrote a terrific column about Maryland basketball. This year’s BB&T is shaping up to be a little boring. George Mason is playing Bucknell at 1:30 to start the event Sunday. The Bison, who took Wake Forest to OT and lost 86-83 Nov. 14, is playing Northern Iowa Saturday at 1 p.m. in Lewisburg, Pa. The will likely jump on a bus right after and head to D.C.
Expect a worn down Bucknell team. Mason beat Florida International 65-39 Nov. 27 and has Duke in Durham, N.C. Dec. 9.
The GW/Va. Tech game is pretty interesting. The Colonials, as everyone who is reading this knows, lost to Providence last Sunday. On Wednesday night, Virginia Tech beat Iowa in Blacksburg, Va. Virginia Tech has played a couple NCAA teams. GW has played Kennesaw State, Providence and Longwood. Is GW ready?
Maryland probably will beat Notre Dame by 30. The one year where a win over Maryland would be great, GW gets Va. Tech.
