The sidewalk in front of District House will be temporarily closed this semester, GW announced Monday.
The curb lane and parking spaces adjacent to the entrance to Kogan Plaza, where food trucks often park, are also temporarily closed, according to a University release.
Deliveries to the construction site will arrive on H Street as workers rebuild a delivery dock in the Marvin Center alley. Samantha McGovern, a communications coordinator for Campaign GW, said in the release that this could add congestion to traffic “during certain times of day.”
“The construction team has worked to ensure that the greatest amount of loud work on the Marvin Center alley was completed in advance of students returning for the spring semester,” she said.
Construction on the $130 million residence hall is scheduled to finish this fall. The 64,000 square feet building will house nearly 900 sophomores and juniors, as well as five dining venues.
