The Colonial Health Center will be open for two additional hours on Wednesday evenings, according to a University release.
The center, which is located on the ground floor of the Marvin Center, will now be open from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays. It had previously closed at 5 p.m. during all weekdays.
“Service hours were expanded following conversations between student wellness staff, Division of Student Affairs administrators and Student Association leaders,” the release reads.
Mental Health Services office hours at the Mount Vernon Campus are not available on Wednesdays. In February, the Board of Trustees approved a 3.4 percent tuition increase that officials said would help boost mental health resources.
The Student Association Senate passed a resolution in April calling for the hours of the health center to be extended until 6 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays.
