It’s never too early for basketball scheduling news and with that in mind, a pair of men’s home dates for next season were mentioned in two separate articles today – one against Metrorail neighbor George Mason and another against tonight’s opponent, Sacramento State.
The Washington Post’s Steven Goff reports a tentative home-and-home agreement between Mason and GW at the end of today’s Patriots game story, adding credence to a similar report by The Hatchet in August. As Goff points out, it would be the first meeting between the two programs in more than a decade.
The Sacramento Bee mentions Sacramento State returning tonight’s game next season in an interesting piece on GW’s last trek to the California capital. Hobbs repeats the emphasis on recruiting character that has become commonplace over the past year, but says that he “could have gotten” better players than the current crop of freshmen – Tony Taylor, Aaron Ware and Matt Allbritton – had he prioritized differently.
