Part of the central parking garage at the Watergate complex collapsed Friday morning at about 10 a.m.
The collapse occurred on the 2600 block of Virginia Avenue, said Aquita Brown, a public information officer for the Metropolitan Police Department.
Parts of the building have been under construction. Brown said three construction workers were initially unaccounted for, but had been found this morning.
One person was been transported to a local hospital with “minor injuries” and officers are continuing to search the complex, a spokesman at D.C. Fire and EMS said. He said there have been no reports of missing people since the collapse.
Three floors of the structure collapsed, in what firefighters referred to as “a pancake collapse,” Reuters reported.
