The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has placed D.C. and Baltimore under a tornado watch until 10 p.m. Monday.
A tornado watch means conditions are favorable for a tornado, but it is less severe than a tornado warning, Capital Weather Gang reported. Strong winds and hail could also hit the area.
Note: A tornado watch means ingredients could come together for a tornado to form. Stay alert. Not same as warning which means TAKE ACTION.

The National Weather Service reported there is an about 40 percent chance of at least two tornadoes in the area, and a 50 percent chance of at least 10 incidents with damaging winds. Thunderstorms are also likely to hit the area before midnight.
