The University landed at No. 3 on a list of medium-sized schools with the most Peace Corps volunteers, up from the No. 4 spot last year.
GW currently has 36 Peace Corps volunteers, five fewer than neighboring American University, according to a release. The University had the largest number of volunteers among mid-size schools from 2009 to 2012 before totals dropped in 2013.
Western Washington University had the most volunteers for medium-sized schools, with 47 volunteers.
GW is the all-time highest producer of Peace Corp volunteers among D.C. schools, with more than 1,160 students serving since the program launched more than five decades ago.
The University of Washington led large-sized schools for total volunteers, with 72, according to the release. GW’s competitor Tulane University landed in second place on a list of graduate schools, with 18 students serving.
