Multiple students living in The Dakota reported flooding in their rooms Wednesday, with water accumulating several inches deep in some suites.
Students’ rooms were affected by a building-wide plumbing problem, according to an email from Facilities Services that was provided to The Hatchet.
Roommates Antonia Keutzer and Grace McIlhon said water soaked the floors of their bathroom, hallway and closet. A facilities worker told Keutzer that pipes on the first and second floors backed up, causing their toilets to spontaneously overflow.
Keutzer said at one point, the water was high enough to fill a shoe.
Employees from GW Facilities Services did not immediately return requests for comment.
