A 20-year-old man reported three unknown suspects robbed him at gunpoint Tuesday night on the same block as Ivory Tower.
The victim, who was unaffiliated with the University, was walking on the sidewalk at about 11:50 p.m. when a black SUV pulled up next to him, according to Metropolitan Police Department documents. Three men stepped out of the vehicle, and one pulled out a revolver and pointed it at him.
Another man said, “Don’t move. You know what it is. Give it up,” and they took the victim’s wallet, which had his identification and $80 in cash.
The suspects drove off eastbound on the 2200 block of Virginia Avenue, according to the documents. All three were black males wearing dark clothing.

Police originally reported an additional robbery in the 2200 block of F Street, but issued a correction that the alert was sent in error about three hours later.
University Police Department Chief Kevin Hay said he did not have further information about the incident.
