‘Ghostbusters’ to take over Lyft

This post was written by Hatchet staff writer Crystel Sylvester.

Even if the “Ghostbusters” reboot is the most disliked movie trailer on YouTube, residents of select cities, including D.C., can still catch a ride in the movie’s spirit-busting vehicle this weekend.

Lyft is offering a “Ghost Mode” promotion Friday and Saturday as a promotion for the franchise’s latest movie’s release July 15. Riders in D.C., New York, Boston, San Francisco and Los Angeles can ride for free in an Ecto-1 or a replica from 10 a.m to 6 p.m. both days, Hollywood Reporter reported Wednesday.

The Ecto-1 in the reboot is a repurposed 1980 Cadillac Fleetwood hearse with Ghostbusters logos on the doors. If the originals and replicas are in use, riders can take Toyota Highlanders wrapped to look like the original.
