No matter how D.C. residents feel about this year’s potential commander in chief, they can all get behind the ABC drama.
A new map – sponsored by CenturyLink and comprised using data from Google Trends – shows each state’s favorite politically-charged shows. D.C. residents said they love “Commander in Chief,” an ABC drama about the first female president.
D.C. isn’t the only Washington to favor “Commander in Chief” – the show also topped the chart in Washington state.
Other trends on the map show that viewers in the South favor alumna Kerry Washington’s drama “Scandal,” while the West still favors Fox’s “24.” Although “1600 Penn” only aired 13 episodes, the show clearly still has a strong fanbase, with the NBC show topping the charts in eight states.
D.C.’s top five showed that its residents seem to enjoy shows based in their own city, because it was the only place where “The West Wing” appeared in the top five.
Here are D.C.’s top five favorite political shows:
1. “Commander in Chief”
2. “The Americans”
3. “The West Wing”
4. “Veep”
5. “House of Cards”
