Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano will participate in a panel along with two other former secretaries in Jack Morton Auditorium next week.

Former secretaries of homeland security Michael Chertoff and Tom Ridge will join Napolitano on the panel, which will be introduced by University President Steven Knapp.

The panelists will discuss the progress of homeland security since Sept. 11 and the national security environment going forward.

Napolitano will join Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley that morning at a similar discussion on University of Maryland’s College Park campus.

The event will be held Oct. 11 at 5 p.m. and online registration is free and open to students.

The event is co-sponsored by the University’s Homeland Security Policy Institute and the Homeland Security and Defense Business Council.
