The Dayton Daily News is reporting that the Atlantic 10 will get rid of its three-tier scheduling system for next year’s men’s basketball season. The paper reported that teams will still play a few teams more than once in conference play, but doesn’t note how the repeat match-ups will be determined.
Last season, the Colonials were a part of the conference’s top tier, but paid the price for its tougher schedule with a 5-11 conference record. Director of Athletics Jack Kvancz was an outspoken opponent of the system when it was first implemented last year.
