GW Police Department officers responded to a report of burglary that occurred at the Smith Hall of Art. A male subject broke the breezeway windows of the hall and stole two desktop computers. The unidentified suspect was wearing gloves and a facemask. The subject fled the scene in a vehicle and damaged the passenger side of an unoccupied parked car.

Threats to Do Bodily Harm

GWPD and Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to a report of threats to do bodily harm. Upon arrival, GWPD officers made contact with two non-GW affiliated male and female subjects who were involved in a verbal altercation about family issues. Officers gathered their contact information and sent them away.

A male complainant reported that he engaged in a verbal altercation with an unknown male suspect while the suspect was sitting outside his tent, according to an MPD report. While the complainant was walking around a park at about 3:30 p.m., the suspect approached him from the back, grabbed his right arm and tried punching him in the head. MPD officers arrested the suspect and transported him to the Second District station for processing.

MPD officers found Michael Hilliard – a D.C. resident who’s been arrested more than 70 times, 20 of which involved sexual assault – unconscious at the 1300 block of Park Road NW, according to MPD spokesperson Alaina Gertz. An MPD report states the person reporting the incident helped Hilliard regain consciousness and called D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services, who transported him to the GW Hospital for treatment. A check on Hilliard’s name revealed a bench warrant for sexual assault. MPD officers arrested Hilliard at the hospital at 8:40 p.m.

Theft II/From Building, Simple Assault

GWPD officers responded to a report of theft at 7-Eleven. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a male complainant who stated that an unknown male subject had thrown cookies at him after the subject had stolen donuts and sandwiches from the store. The subject fled the scene, and GWPD officers canvassed the area with negative findings.

MPD officers found a man suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his right shoulder at the 4500 block of Connecticut Avenue NW, according to MPD spokesperson Alaina Gertz. An MPD report states the man was unable to communicate with officers and “appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance.” The man’s mother said he told her he was in Maryland when he was shot. First responders arrived at the scene and transported the man to the GW Hospital for treatment, where he was arrested for two outstanding misdemeanor bench warrants for failure to appear at the D.C. Superior Court.

A complainant reported that an unknown suspect entered the building, pushed him after a verbal altercation and stole his drink and salad, according to an MPD report. The suspect proceeded to flee on foot toward the 900 block of 22nd Street.
