Men’s basketball was originally scheduled to travel to Towson Monday, but a positive COVID-19 test in the Tiger’s program halted all team activities, according to a release Saturday.
The Colonials (1-2) replaced the game with a road trip to UMBC (1-1) Monday, releasing the news two and a half hours after Towson’s announcement. The release states the Tigers (0-3) will try to reschedule “some or all” of their missed games.
The postponement marks the second schedule change as a result of COVID-19 concerns. The squad’s Saturday game against William and Mary was canceled after a member of the Tribe’s Tier 1 personnel tested positive for the virus. GW replaced William and Mary with Coppin State (0-2), dominating the Eagles to win its first game of the season.
The Colonials will look to build a winning streak against UMBC. Tipoff is slated for 4 p.m.
