“Several” leaks were found in the District House roof after heavy rains, University spokesperson Crystal Nosal said.
A “surprisingly” intense storm brought about 3 inches of rainwater on the District in a two-hour period on Sept. 10, according to D.C. Water. Nosal said officials were made aware of the leaks in District House during the rainstorm.
“After the recent unprecedented heavy rainfalls, several leaks were discovered in the roof at District House,” Nosal said in an email.
Nosal said the leaks were fixed afterward and an assessment is being made to prevent future leaks from happening. She declined to say if any students’ rooms were affected.
“Repairs have been made at the affected areas and an assessment is underway to ensure that future leaks are prevented,” Nosal said.
